150 Educators Across 35 States Begin aiEDU’s Spring 2026 Trailblazer Fellowship

This spring, 150 educators representing 140 schools across 35 states began a 12-week professional learning experience designed to deepen their understanding of artificial intelligence and explore how it can be thoughtfully integrated into K–12 classrooms.

The Trailblazer Fellowship reflects a growing national recognition that AI-ready students start with AI-ready teachers. This year’s cohort follows a record-breaking application cycle, with more than 600 educators applying for fewer than 175 available spots, a clear signal of the demand for meaningful AI literacy and preparation in schools.

Throughout the fellowship, educators will engage with peers from across the country to explore responsible AI use, practical classroom applications, and the broader implications of artificial intelligence for teaching and learning.

For many participants, the opportunity reflects an urgent need to help students navigate a rapidly changing landscape.

One Trailblazer shared:

“As a middle school ELA teacher, I see my students at a vulnerable crossroads. They are building their foundational literacy skills while simultaneously being told that a machine can do the writing for them. To me and my students, AI readiness isn’t about learning to code or memorizing prompts—it’s about agency, equity, and the survival of critical voice.”

Another compared the moment to a personal experience learning a groundbreaking tool:

“I remember my first biology lab in college. Everyone else knew how to use the microscope. They were confidently studying and making observations while I fumbled around, embarrassed to ask for help. AI is the microscope of this generation, and I want my students to feel confident and prepared to engage with it.”

By the end of the Spring 2026 program, participants will join a growing aiEDU community of nearly 200 Trailblazer alumni who are helping shape and ensure AI Readiness in K–12 education.
