aiEDU and Michigan Virtual launch Spark The Future to help educators build their own AI skills
This past summer, aiEDU partnered with Michigan Virtual to launch the Spark the Future program which brought together 24 educators from across Michigan to strengthen their AI literacy and grow as community-centered leaders.
Over the course of two 3-week virtual cohorts, participants explored ethical AI use and built up their practical AI skills before returning to their districts ready to guide others.
This was more than just professional learning – the experience helped educators cultivate powerful connections among a statewide network of AI champions. At the end of each curriculum, more than 90% of participants reported high confidence in their ability to teach and lead their fellow educators in this fast-changing space.
We see Spark the Future as a model for other AI literacy initiatives, and we’re eager to help more educators build the capacity they need in order to lead with purpose in the age of AI.
