aiEDU and Michigan Virtual Partner launch statewide partnership in Michigan
LANSING, Mich. — The AI Education Project (aiEDU) is proud to announce a partnership with partner with Michigan Virtual to help make Michigan a national leader in AI education and readiness.
Together, aiEDU and Michigan Virtual are launching a statewide initiative to equip educators with the tools, confidence, and support they need to teach artificial intelligence (AI) across K–12 classrooms. The collaboration reflects both organizations’ shared belief that AI readiness and AI literacy are essential for every student — and that educators are the key to unlocking that future.
At the heart of the initiative is a Train-the-Trainer program, running from June 2025 to June 2026. This year-long effort will prepare 50 Michigan educators to become AI education leaders in their regions, empowering them to deliver foundational AI training to colleagues and scale impact across school communities. Participants will engage in virtual learning cohorts, earn continuing education credits, and receive hands-on support as they integrate AI into instruction.
“Educators are the change agents our students need,” said Alex Kotran, CEO of aiEDU. “This partnership with Michigan Virtual taps into a strong professional ecosystem to ensure every Michigan learner has the opportunity to understand and shape the future of AI.”
The initiative will also include open-access AI literacy curriculum and tools aligned with state and national frameworks, helping teachers across all subject areas introduce students to the principles and implications of artificial intelligence.
