Save the Date: National AI Literacy Day 2026
National AI Literacy Day is on the calendar for year three.
The AI Education Project (aiEDU) is proud to join our partners at the EDSAFE AI Alliance, The Tech Interactive and Common Sense Media in announcing our date for the third annual National AI Literacy Day: March 27, 2006.
As it has for the past two years, National AI Literacy Day will serve as a celebration and coordinated day of action designed to spark meaningful conversations about the role of artificial intelligence in our daily lives.
This year’s theme asks a critical question: “What is AI — and how do we prepare learners for an AI-enhanced world?”
Launched in 2024, National AI Literacy Day has scaled from a grassroots movement to bring AI education to students, parents, educators, and communities. In 2025, National AI Literacy Day included dozens of events, webinars and other engagements from coast to coast, including flagship events in Washington, DC and the Bay Area.
This year’s activities will include professional development for educators, classroom-ready lessons, and student-facing activities exploring the capabilities, risks, and ethical dimensions of AI.
Educators will have access to curated lesson plans, classroom activities, and flexible training opportunities designed to fit a range of grade levels and subject areas.
Students and families will also be able to engage with interactive tools and discussions about AI’s impact — from school to society.
And, once again we’re calling on communities to join us in building an incredible day, by hosting or attending local events from library pop-ups to after-school workshops.
